Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Carolina and Colonial Collections?

Simlarities:

Both Collections of braided rugs are hand-crafted with the finest quality American made carpet yarn, both are true flat braid, and both are sewn with mononfilament sewing thread.

Differences:

  • Manufacturing Location - While both collections are made in the USA they are made at different locations.
  • Colors - Each collection has their unique colors. (Colors can NOT be combined from each collection)
  • Price - As you may have noticed the Carolina Collection is priced lower than the Colonial Collection. This should not be taken as a reflection of the Carolina Collection's quality. Both are of equal quality. The Carolina Collection's manufacturing cost are lower and we pass this savings on to you the customer.
  • Materials - Carolina Collection: On most braids the yarn is made of 100% spun Nylon. On some of the darker colors the yarn is made of Polyester. Colonial Collection: The yarn is composed of 100% spun nylon.

What materials does Heartland Braided Rugs use?

Each and every rug made is crafted with the finest quality American made carpet yarn. Carpet yarn has many advantages over other fibers. While it is as durable as wool, it is colorfast, low maintenance, and non-allergenic.

We use a monofilament sewing thread similar to fishing line. This prevents our rugs from splitting and coming apart under heavy use. Sewing stitches are guaranteed for as long as you own your rug.

Carolina Collection: On most braids the yarn is made of 100% spun Nylon. On some of the darker colors the yarn is made of Polyester.

Colonial Collection: The yarn is composed of 100% spun nylon.

Can I order a rug with a custom color?

Yes...You may request a custom braid or mix as long as it uses one of our existing colors. There is a $40.00 setup fee per custom braid for each order placed. You may order as many rugs as you like and the custom charge will only be $40.00 as long as they are ordered at the same time and only use one custom braid.

How do you Install Stair Treads??

Wooden Stairs:

We recommend the use of a non-slip padding and three floor tacks. One on each end and one in the middle.

Carpeted Stairs:

We recommend the use of Velcro.
